Program Description:

Program Dates: May 16 - June 8, 2018

Description:

This course will explore the areas of dance, theatre, education and global communication in Poland and Czech Republic through performance, history, and creation of original works based on the rich cultural exchange of ideas, experiences, and insights regarding the interpretation of the creative process in the arts for each location.  Students will create a dance/theatre piece to be presented at the international  festival in Krosno and perform for students in selected elementary schools in Krosno and Prague.  Students will also travel with other students enrolled in LING 2050 and COMM 2050 and attend scheduled lectures, field trips, cultural events, and discussions together.

Accommodations & Meals:

Students will be housed in double or triple occupancy hotel rooms and residence halls.  Most breakfasts and some dinners are included in the cost of the program.  Students are responsible for the majority of their own meals.

Highlights:

  • Link through the ECU Global Classroom with students from Krosno University
  • Prepare original works both in dance and theatre to be performed at the international festival, Juwenalia
  • Present Storybook Theatre and dance performances and workshops at selective elementary schools in and around Krosno and Prague

Accessibility: ability to walk up to five miles per day

Eligibility:

Minimum 2.0 GPA
Preference is given to Undergraduate BFA in Theatre, Dance, Theatre Education and Dance Education
