Work Abroad Resources

Many students enjoy their time abroad so much that they want to return after graduation or even travel to new places. There are lots of resources available online to help you find a job or other opportunities abroad to make this dream a reality.

Always refer to the exact position for qualifications, but typical minimum requirements may include:

  • Native-like fluency in English is required for all volunteer positions
  • Fulbright and study abroad positions available to undergraduate students in good academic standing
  • BA/BS is typically required at language schools, the Peace Corps and other government-sponsored programs
  • MA/MS is typically required for TESOL administrative positions
  • PhD is typically required for most universities in US and the best ones abroad

    • A non-profit organization that allows certified teachers to apply to jobs at schools around the world
  • Search Associates
    • Recruitment organization that assists teachers, administrators, counselors, librarians and interns find jobs in hundreds of quality international schools
  • Dave's ESL Cafe
    • Site where job searchers can post their resumes
  • TESOL International Association
    • An organization supporting the excellence of quality in teaching English to speakers of other languages
  • Japanese Exchange and Teaching Programme
    • The JET Programme invites young overseas graduates to assist in international exchange and foreign language education in local governments, boards of education and elementary, junior and senior high schools throughout Japan
  • Via - Asia/US Exchange Programs
    • Provides one year service fellowships through Asia

Work/Internship Abroad

    • GoinGlobal is an online database that contains over 600,000 international internship and job listings, country-specific career and employment resources, and corporate profiles for key employers around the world.

    • Work and internship opportunities in the service industry and businesses, primarily in the UK.
  • Transitions Abroad
    • A website that serves as a clearinghouse for a range of international organizations and opportunities
    • Holds a database of families, individuals or organisations in an extensive range of different countries who have registered with us and are looking for volunteer help in a huge range of different fields
